Digital Desk: The Indian junior men's hockey team defeated England 4-0 on Monday at the 4-Nations Tournament in Dusseldorf. India's goal scorers were Rajinder Singh (13th), Amir Ali (33rd), Amandeep Lakra (41st), and Araijeet Singh Hundal (58th). After a tense start, India rose ahead 1-0 as Rajinder converted a penalty corner. Trailing by a goal, England started stitching together attacking moves to cover the deficit in the second quarter.
They were unable to break through the Indian defense, and the score remained 1-0 at halftime.
Amir Ali scored a fast field goal at the start of the second half to put additional pressure on England.
India began to dominate the proceedings after taking a 2-0 lead. Late in the third quarter, Amandeep converted another penalty corner as India extended their lead.
With 15 minutes remaining, England began to show signs of eagerness to score, but India defended well.
At the final whistle, Araijeet added another goal to India's 4-0 victory.
