Sourabh Kumar, Washington Sundar, and Sarfaraz Khan have been selected to India's team for the second Test by the men's selection committee.
Digital Desk: In a surprising turn of events, KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja have been ruled out of the second Test in Visakhapatnam, the BCCI announced on Monday. Rahul reported experiencing pain in his right quadriceps, while Jadeja had a hamstring injury during the first Test match in Hyderabad on Day 4. Both of them are being observed by the medical team of BCCI.
Sourabh Kumar, Washington Sundar, and Sarfaraz Khan have been selected to India's team for the second Test by the men's selection committee. A substitute for Sundar in the India A team has been announced: Saransh Jain. The team will play the England Lions over three days beginning on February 1st.
Avesh Khan will keep travelling with his Ranji Trophy team, Madhya Pradesh, and he may join the Test squad if needed. The teams for the first two Test matches against England were revealed by the BCCI. The final three Test matchups' squads have not yet been revealed. Virat Kohli had previously withdrew from the first two Test matches for private reasons.
Sarafaraz, one of the most reliable run scorers in the local league, was a candidate for an India call-up. The officials included the 26-year-old in the team after he pleased the selectors with his 161 for India A against the England Lions recently in Ahmedabad.
India A won the match by an innings and sixteen runs thanks to a knock from Sarfaraz. Sarfaraz has scored 3912 runs at an average of 69.85 and a strike-rate of 70.48 in 45 first-class matches for Mumbai since making his debut in 2014. In addition, he has 11 half-centuries and 14 centuries to his name.
