Kane Williamson, who was on paternity leave during the recent T20I series against Australia, will be returning to the squad for the upcoming Test series starting on February 29, 2024.
Kane Williamson was in fantastic form throughout the most recent two-Test series against South Africa, finishing as the highest run-scorer with 403 runs in four innings. With his outstanding dedication, New Zealand defeated the Proteas in their inaugural Test series.
During this incredible tour, Williamson made Test history by hitting his 30th, 31st, and 32nd centuries. He is now just one century away from joining former England batter Alastair Cook in the top 10 on the list of cricketers with the most Test hundreds, thanks to his outstanding performance, which puts him ranked 11th.
With 17 hundred in 77 matches, Martin Crowe held the record for the most centuries by a New Zealander in Test cricket prior to Kane Williamson's remarkable career.
Both Williamson and Tim Southee have played 98 Test matches for New Zealand. They'll become part of an exclusive group of players who have represented their country in 100 or more Test matches when they play Australia in the next series. There are currently just five Kiwi players that have reached this feat.
