Digital Desk: With zero wins this season, the Delhi Capitals are the most unsuccessful team in the IPL 2023, and their losing streak continued when they faced RCB in their fifth match on Saturday (April 15). At the Chinnaswamy Stadium, David Warner's DC restricted Virat Kohli's RCB to a competitive total of 174/6, but as in previous encounters, DC batters struggled to stay on the crease, losing four fast wickets during the powerplay. Manish Panday batted at one end and got a much-needed half-century, but Hasaranga removed him at 50. Axar Patel, who was in good form, attempted to keep the scoreboard going before being caught at the mid-off in search of a boundary. Royal Challengers Bangalore won the game by 23 runs despite losing five batsmen for single-digit scores.

In the commentary box during the game, former Indian coach Ravi Shastri didn't hold back when making fun of the losing team. "The problem now with Delhi Capitals is, especially with the way the other teams are going when you lose four in a row, it becomes very, very difficult to come back," Shastri stated during the commentary. "There are people on that bench who aren't used to losing. One is Ricky Ponting," his fellow commentator Simon Doull added.

"David Warner, too. He has also been on the winning side. Losing is not the point. It's about beating yourself up. It's five in a row, and you don't appear to be winning. Losing close games is one thing; getting outplayed by another team is not a good story," Shastri said.

 Further, he made a jab at former Indian captain and former BCCI president Sourav Ganguly, saying, "Sourav Ganguly, the former president of the board. He must have felt that it was nice upstairs!" 

With two of the most successful leaders in the dugout and stars such as David Warner, Mitchell Marsh, Prithvi Shaw, Anrich Nortje, and Axar Patel in the playing XI, this is DC's lowest performance as a team.
