Chennai: Whether or not former Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni will play for the Indian Premier League team Chennai Super Kings in the 2021 season is uncertain.
According to the reports, on Sunday a top official of the CSK stated that the decision on whether to retain MS Dhoni for the 2022 season of the IPL will only be taken when they are clear about all the player retention rules of the league.
The franchise is still unaware as to how many times a player can be retained which has not been laid down by the BCCI until now. Besides, two new teams are set to be part of the 2022 edition of the mega league. Reports also say that if possible the franchise could also use a retention card to keep the talismanic player.
