Digital Desk: As the countdown to the ICC ODI World Cup final on November 19 intensifies, cricket enthusiasts are grappling with unexpected challenges as they strive to be part of the historic clash between India and Australia at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
The excitement surrounding the final has led to an unprecedented surge in accommodation prices, leaving fans with limited options. Basic accommodations now command a staggering Rs 10,000 per night, while luxury hotels are demanding nearly Rs 1 lakh for a single night's stay in the city.
Flight prices have also hit an all-time high, with a 200–300 percent increase in round-trip tickets to Ahmedabad. Flights departing from Delhi on the eve of the final are now priced at a whopping Rs 15,000, making the journey to witness the much-anticipated match a financial challenge for many.
Securing both accommodations and tickets has become a herculean task for fans. Following the announcement of the World Cup schedule, a surge in flight costs and exorbitant hotel tariffs unfolded. The situation escalated further as India secured their spot in the final, leading to a sharp increase in hotel prices in Ahmedabad.

Online hotel booking platforms such as Booking.com, MakeMyTrip, and Agoda have reported a significant spike in searches for stays in Ahmedabad, reminiscent of the demand seen during the India-Pakistan clash.
The final batch of match tickets, released on November 13, sold out rapidly. The cheapest ticket, available on BookMyShow, was priced at Rs 10,000. The Men in Blue's remarkable unbeaten streak in the tournament has only heightened the anticipation surrounding the final, transforming it into a once-in-a-lifetime event for cricket fans nationwide.
