Asad Rauf is a former ICC elite umpire. Check here is what he is currently doing.
Digital Desk: Former ICC elite umpire Asad Rauf, who umpired in over 170 games between 2000 and 2013, now sells clothes and shoes in a Pakistani shop.
According to reports, he is no longer interested in cricket and is selling clothes and shoes for his staff rather than himself.
Not to mention, the BCCI banned the umpire in 2016 after he was found guilty of corrupt practices and causing disruption in the game.
He was also accused of accepting gifts from bookies and being involved in the 2013 IPL spot-fixing scandal.
In an interview with an international news agency named Paktv.tv, he stated, "I have not been in touch with cricket since 2013 because when I leave something, I completely leave it."
When asked about selling clothes and shoes, he stated that it is not his job, but he does it for the daily wages of his employees.
He has umpired in 49 Tests, 98 ODIs, and 23 T20Is out of 170 games.
He went on to say that he has a habit of reaching the pinnacle of everything he does. For example, he began as a shopkeeper and advanced to the peak, played cricket and advanced to the peak, and began as an umpire and advanced to the peak.
Rauf went on to say that he has seen a lot of money in his life and is not greedy.
