Digital Desk: The Indian women's cricket team, led by newly accredited captain Harmanpreet Kaur, came here on Sunday for a limited-overs tour of Sri Lanka that begins on June 23.
A young Indian squad will play three ODIs and as many T20 Internationals at Pallekele and Dambulla, respectively, without older players like Mithali Raj, who declared her retirement, and veteran pacer Jhulan Goswami.
The Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) shared photos and videos of the visiting side, coached by Ramesh Powar, on social media upon arrival.
Before leaving, the Indian squad attended a camp at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru, where it met with NCA Director VVS Laxman.
The visit, according to Harmanpreet, was an excellent opportunity to strengthen the team.
"We put a lot of effort into our squad, and we have some fantastic combinations." "It's a nice tour to start for us since we'll be playing without our seniors for the first time, and it'll be a great opportunity for all of us to establish a team," Harmanpreet said on Saturday.
The tour kicks off on June 23 at Dambulla with the opening T20I.
