Digital Desk: Meta-owned messaging platform WhatsApp is set to streamline its user experience with an innovative feature that allows Android beta users to create new groups seamlessly while forwarding messages. The move comes as part of WhatsApp's continuous efforts to enhance user convenience and interaction within the platform.

According to reports from WABetaInfo, beta users will now see a dedicated 'create group' icon within the forwarding screen, providing them with a quick and efficient way to create new groups. By selecting this option, users can effortlessly add participants to the newly formed group, and the forwarded message will automatically be shared within it. This new addition is expected to save users valuable time, simplifying the process of group creation and message sharing.

The feature is currently available to some beta testers who have installed the latest WhatsApp beta update for Android, and it is anticipated to roll out to a wider user base over the coming days. Users can easily check if the feature is available for their accounts by attempting to forward a message.

Earlier this month, reports emerged about WhatsApp's development of an animated avatar feature for Android beta. This upcoming addition is poised to inject more life and personality into stickers, providing a more expressive and engaging communication experience for users.

Moreover, in June, WhatsApp unveiled another feature on its Android beta version, enabling users to send high-quality videos. Although this feature retains the original video dimensions, a minor compression is applied to the video during transmission, making it impossible to send videos in their pristine, unaltered quality. By default, all videos will be sent in 'Standard quality,' requiring users to manually select the high-quality option whenever they wish to share videos with better resolution.
