Digital Desk: The first significant operating system upgrade since the release of the new operating system last year, Microsoft has released its 2022 update to users of Windows 11. The considerably simpler "Windows 11 2022 Upgrade" has been chosen as the name for the update in place of the 22H2 update, which is how the firm normally names its updates.
According to Microsoft, the update has been released in 190 nations, including India. Users of Windows 11 laptops or desktops can check for the update by going to Settings > System > Windows update. Not all users may receive the update at once; some users may receive it over the course of several weeks.

Additionally, Microsoft is bringing the Amazon Appstore Preview to a global audience, enabling Windows 11 customers in many more areas to use more than 20,000 Android apps on their devices. A new system-wide live-caption option will enable users to create captions on their computers from any audio source, among other improved accessibility capabilities.
With the upgrade, Microsoft has also improved gesture functionality, making it easier for users of tablets and 2-in-1 devices to operate the operating system. Gamers can now use a new Xbox controller bar that gives them additional controller control.
Users with Voice Access can command their PCs verbally, and Microsoft has expanded the Narrator's voice library. A dedicated DND button has been added to the notification panel as a result of recent changes to the do not disturb settings.
Smart App Control, one of the new security enhancements in the update, disables scripting attacks and stops untrusted programmes from launching; however, this feature requires a clean install because Microsoft wants to make sure there are no untrusted apps currently operating on the device.
Microsoft also disclosed that a new photo management user interface, including a gallery, improved browsing, and the capability to quickly backup photos to One Drive cloud storage, is also coming to the Photos app next month. Also planned for next month is a new overflow menu for the taskbar.
