Digital Desk: The government has unveiled the nominees for the National Creators Award 2024, acknowledging digital content creators for making positive contributions and fostering innovation. In its inaugural edition, over 200 nominees are contending across 22 categories for this prestigious acknowledgement.
The nominees were disclosed last month on the MyGov platform, following a period during which both citizens and content creators submitted their favourites, concluding on February 21. The extensive range of categories includes storytelling, social change advocacy, environmental sustainability, education, gaming, and more.
Social media influencers like Komal Pandey, Siddharth Batra, Kritika Khurana, and others are up for the Favourite Heritage Fashion Icon category, while celebrities like Katrina Kaif, Kangana Ranaut, and Ranvir Shorey are nominated under the category of Favourite Celebrity Creator.
In the storytelling area, Zakir Khan and Food Lovers TV stand out, while Nancy Tyagi, Abhi, and Niyu are among the names in the disruptor category. Prominent proponents of social reform include Sandeep Maheshwari and Prajakta Koli; among agri-creators, Darshan Singh and Rythu Badi are noteworthy. In addition, the awards recognise creators in a variety of industries, including gaming, travel, and technology. Well-known brands like Visa2explore, Gaurav Chaudhary, and Total Gaming are among the nominees.
As the National Creators Award gains momentum, it sets the stage for recognising and encouraging individuals and groups that leverage their digital presence to make a meaningful impact. The voting closed on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
