Digital Desk: A horrifying incident has come to light in Haryana, where two prisoners allegedly raped a woman inmate while the police personnel were busy with documentation. The victim, who was undergoing treatment at the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences, Rohtak (PGIMS), was taken there by the police along with two other inmates for treatment.
According to a Times Now report, the woman, who is serving a 10-year jail term in a Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS) case, has alleged that she was raped in the prisoners' van by two accused, identified as Manish and Satish, while the security personnel were preoccupied with documentation.
The incident reportedly took place in the Rohtak district of Haryana while the prisoners were out for treatment. The woman has filed a police complaint with the Jind Civil Line police station, and a zero FIR has been lodged against both the accused under Section 376 based on her complaint.
The FIR has been sent to Rohtak police, as the crime happened under their jurisdiction. The police are currently investigating the matter and checking all the facts and allegations made by the victim. The date of the crime has not been mentioned in the FIR.
The woman had reportedly attempted suicide earlier due to stress, and a case for suicide attempt had been lodged against her post the incident. Rohtak police officials have confirmed receiving information about the incident, and the victim is currently undergoing treatment at PGIMS, Rohtak.
