Digital Desk: A British crocodile expert has admitted to raping and killing dogs while filming his acts of bestiality and posting it online, reported BBC. Leading naturalist Adam Britton, who has worked with the BBC and National Geographic, testified in front of an Australian court that he he tortured dozens of dogs until they died which were all caught on camera.

Britton, who confessed to 60 offences including accessing online child abuse material, is yet to be sentenced.

According to local media, the judge overseeing the case at the Northern Territory Supreme Court urged witnesses to leave the courtroom because the details of the defendant's offences were too graphic and could cause "nervous shock."

Prosecutors claimed that since 2014, Britton has had a "sadistic sexual interest" in animals and has taken advantage of both his pets and canines that other owners had surrendered.

According to the prosecution, Britton used to search for persons giving away their pets due to travel or work commitments and try to get custody of the animals. The prior owners claimed that when he contacted them for an update on their old pets, he would use "false narratives" or give them outdated images.

The court was informed that he had equipped a shipping container with recording equipment where he abused the animals. He referred to it as the "torture room".

The Charles Darwin University professor, Britton, who holds a PhD in zoology, was arrested in 2022 when the Northern Territory police discovered one of these videos. He will be sentenced in December 2023.

The investigation stated that 39 of the 42 dogs he had abused in the 18 months before his arrest had died.
