Indian doctor wishes to stay back in Ukraine, says 'I am not stuck'

When many in Ukraine has been trying to escape the nation amid a severe war crisis through the Russian invasion, an Indian doctor in Kyiv chooses to stay back.

Digital Desk: A 37-year-old Indian doctor from Bengal did not want to leave the war-torn nation when many attempted to flee.

Dr Prithwi Raj Ghosh, a doctor and student advisor in Ukraine, has opted to stay behind us to help Indian students run the country.

"I'm not stuck in Kyiv, and I'm not going on my own volition. Almost 350 pupils have been rescued from Ukraine as a result of my efforts. They were my Kyiv students. Other coordinators who have departed have urged me to assist other learners who are stranded in different regions of the country, particularly in Sumy "India Today spoke with Dr Ghosh.

According to Ghosh, the truce is for all citizens, not only students, and about 2,000 students in Kharkiv were permitted to depart.

India Today spoke with Ghosh's parents, who were both terrified and proud of him at the same time. His mother, Bratati, said she prayed to God every day for her son and the pupils' safe return.

Prithwi was regarded as an older brother by these young students, according to their father, Pradip Ghosh.

"There is no one to help the students. He is regarded as their protector. How is he going to get out of this?" Pradip remarked.

Prithwi, on the other hand, claims he is simply doing his job.

"My parents are concerned about me. I understand, but I'm the one who has to deal with it. I assured the parents that I would look after their children. I went through the crisis in 2013-2014 when I was a little younger and did the same thing. Now that I'm older, I'm more equipped to deal with it "he stated.
