Digital Desk: A group of Hindu pilgrims from neighbouring country Pakistan's Sindh province visited Prayagraj to participate in the sacred rituals at the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. The devotees expressed their gratitude to the Indian government for issuing special visas for 25 days in just 3 days and offering them to experience India's largest religious congregation, traditionally held at the river confluences and attended by millions of devotees from all around the world.
The pilgrims were delighted to visit various camps at the Mela and interacted with the spiritual leaders. They bathed in the holy confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati.
Speaking to a news agency, one of the pilgrims Govind Ram Makhija said, "We are here and we are very happy. It is very well organized and we have been very well served. We never even imagined that it could happen."
Another pilgrim Ishwar Lal Makhija said, "We are thankful to the Indian government who had made a very good arrangement for us right from the station till here."
Sharing excitement for her first visit to India, Priyanka said, "Feels great. It feels we are very close to our culture here. Everything here feels like we belong. Like our worship, our religious place, everything that we see, it feels very good."
One of the pilgrims said to the news agency, "We consider ourselves very fortunate. We are excited to learn more about our religion here. We are very thankful to the Indian Government. They gave a 25-day visa in 3 days."
Gobind Ram said, "As soon as we reached here, we were listening to bhajan and all night we were feeling peaceful. We are very happy and peaceful."
The Maha Kumbh Mela began on January 13 with a total attendees of more than 389.7 million. The largest spiritual and cultural gathering will continue until February 26.
