Amid heightened tensions between Delhi and Islamabad, Asif called for an international probe with the help of these powerful countries into the attack, that took the lives of 27 Indian civilians.
Digital Desk: Pakistan Defence Minister Khawaja Asif sought an intervention of Russia, China, and other Western countries in investigating the deadly terror attack in Baisaran Valley of Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir on April 22.
Amid heightened tensions between Delhi and Islamabad, Asif called for an international probe with the help of these powerful countries into the attack, that took the lives of 27 Indian civilians.
Speaking to the Russian government-run news agency RIA Novosti, Khawaja expressed his desire that Russia, China, or even Western countries can play a pivotal role amid the deteriorating relations between the two neighbouring nations.
Khawaja also requested to find out whether "India or Prime Minister Narendra Modi is lying or he is telling the truth."
He added that these countries could form an international team to investigate the matter.
Earlier on Friday, Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also said that Pakistan is ready for a 'neutral, transparent, and credible investigation' into the ghastly terror attack.
As India responds strongly to Pakistan after the harrowing terror attack in Pahalgam, a sense of dread has gripped the Pakistan army.
As India prepares for a response against Pakistan and its sponsorship of terrorism, the country's Army Chief General Asim Munir and several other officials have sent their families abroad, as per sources.
India's top leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, have pledged to punish all the terrorists and their backers.
The Pahalgam terror attack considered one of the deadliest attacks in J&K since the 2019 Pulwama attack, claimed the lives of 28 Indians following an open fire by the Resistance Force (TRF), a local offshoot of Pakistan-based terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba on April 22.
