Digital Desk: ISI Chief Lieutenant General Asim Malik on Tuesday visited Dhaka, Bangladesh. This was the first time in decades that a head of the ISI visited Bangladesh. According to reports, Malik visited Bangladesh to strengthen the information-sharing network between the intelligence agencies of both countries.
Asim Malik was received by Lieutenant General Muhammad Faizur Rahman, who is alleged to have close relations with Islamists and Pakistan. According to another report, this visit was aimed at creating disturbances in India through cross-border activities. Pakistan and Bangladesh
have been coming closer to each other since former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's ouster.
The principal staff officer of the Armed Forces division of Bangladesh Lt Gen SM Kamr-ul-Hasan also visited Islamabad recently. Both countries held separate meetings to discuss topics like emerging security challenges, enhancing bilateral military cooperation, etc.

Under the leadership of the interim government of Muhammad Yunus, the two neighboring countries of India, Bangladesh and Pakistan are engaging in high-level meetings, visits, and collaborations on trade and investment, education and culture, defense and security, and science and technology.
