Digital Desk: A decomposed male body has been recovered near Weisawdong Falls at the Riat Arliang parking lot in Umblai Sohra, Meghalaya. The body has been identified as Raja Raghuvanshi, a newlywed from Indore, by his family, after he and his wife went missing since 23rd May .
It was found by a search team that included police, the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), and volunteer groups. They decided to celebrate their honeymoon in Sohra (Cherrapunji), which is in the East Khasi Hills district of Meghalaya. Their wedding took place on 11th May, and they went to Meghalaya on May 20.
Raja’s family runs a transport company in Indore, and Sachin Raghuvanshi, his brother, shared the concern that the couple could be kidnapped. He had also urged that soldiers be deployed to help look for them.
Once Raja’s body was recovered, relatives are traveling to Meghalaya to be involved in the identification and the next steps. Sonam is still missing, and people are still looking for her in the area.
Authorities are closely overseeing what is happening, and another update about Sonam is coming as the search for her goes on. Because of this tragedy, families and the community feel deep shock, which underlines the importance of an ongoing search and investigation.
