    US Sends Tracey Ann Jacobson As New Diplomat To Dhaka

    Digital Desk: Tracey Ann Jacobson, a career member of the Senior Foreign Service in the US was sent to Dhaka as Charge d'affairs (CDA) on January 11, 2025. She was serving as a Senior Advisor in the Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs before joining as a diplomat to Dhaka. Jacobson has replaced CDA of the US embassy Megan Bouldin, who assumed the position of the deputy chief of mission last year.  


    She was the US Ambassador three times to Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Kosovo. Last year in May, US President Joe Biden nominated David Slayton Meale's name for the position of new US ambassador to Bangladesh. However, his appointment could not be approved due to the presidential elections in the US last year.

    Tracey Ann Jacobson's various roles include dean of the School of Professional and Area Studies, Deputy Director of the National Foreign Affairs Training Center, Senior Director for administration for the National Security Council in Washington DC, and Deputy Ambassador at the US Embassy in Riga.

    President-elect Donald Trump's swearing-in ceremony will take place on January 20 as the 47th President of the US. Trump will take the oath with Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts in Washington D.C. JD Vance's swearing-in ceremony as Vice President will also take place the same day before Trump's ceremony.

    Jacobson completed her Bachelor's degree from Johns Hopkins University and her Masters degree from the School of Advanced International Studies.
