Autumn Session of Assam Assembly from Sep 11
The Election Commission (EC) released its final report on delimitation on August 11 and kept Assam's 126 assembly districts and 14 Lok Sabha seats in place.

Digital Desk: The current year's 15th Assam Legislative Assembly's Autumn Session will begin on September 11.

The five days session will last till September 15, 2023.

On August 15, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma stated that after the delineation of assembly and parliamentary seats, the state administration would soon begin work on administrative reorganisation.

He asserted that despite some protests against the final delimitation report, people must accept it as the reality.

The Election Commission (EC) released its final report on delimitation on August 11 and kept Assam's 126 assembly districts and 14 Lok Sabha seats in place.

However, it changed the names of the 19 assembly constituencies and one parliamentary constituency that were stated in the draught announcement.

According to the EC, Scheduled Tribes (STs) have reserved 19 assembly seats and two Lok Sabha seats, while Scheduled Castes (SCs) have reserved nine assembly seats and one Lok Sabha seat.

"The final report was delivered by the EC. In two to three days, the President of India will issue the delimitation notification," Sarma said to reporters while speaking at an event.
