Digital Desk: Don't we all enjoy a fresh bowl of curd topped with some chopped fruits? One of the most loved and relished milk products eaten in Indian homes is curd. It is frequently paired with parathas, consumed as raita, or sipped as sweet lassi or chaas. It is well known that curd can calm the stomach and that its microorganisms aid in digestion. Because of its high vitamin and mineral content, curd aids in boosting immunity. It is made by fermenting milk with a strain of bacteria known as Lactobacillus delbrueckii. Lactic acid, which is produced by bacterial fermentation, gives the curd its thick consistency.
Curd is loaded with health benefits. It is rich in phosphorus, calcium, magnesium, potassium, vitamin B-2, and vitamin B-12. The probiotic in curd aids in the correct functioning of the digestive tract. When dahi is combined with the incorrect foods, the nutrients in curd might sometimes harm our bodies. These foods may fall under the category of being healthy, yet they often have the opposite effect.
List of Foods You Should Never Consume With Dahi
1. Fish
Since both foods are high in protein, avoid eating curd with fish. Apparently, mixing animal protein with veg protein makes it more difficult for humans to digest. It can cause stomach problems.
2. Mango
Combining mango with curd creates a cold and heat condition in the body, which can lead to skin problems and the production of toxins in the body. It can upset the digestive system.
3. Onion
Curd and onions are frequently consumed together as Raita. It would be great if you gave up this practice right away because curd is cold by nature and onions are known to warm the body up. This combination can result in skin allergies, eczema, psoriasis, and other rashes.
4. Milk
Since milk and curd are both sources of protein derived from animals, they shouldn't be consumed together. It may result in diarrhoea, acidity, bloating, and gas.
5. Oily Foods
Don't we all enjoy Ghee Wala Parantha with Makan and Dahi on the side? You should stop doing this since greasy foods when combined with curd, slow down digestion and make you feel lazy throughout the day.
