32 special trains introduced by Indian Railways for festivals ahead

Special trains will connect major rail links in Darbhanga, Azamgarh, Saharsa, Bhagalpur, Muzaffarpur, Firozpur, Patna, Katihar, and Amritsar, according to a statement from the railways.

    Digital Desk: The Indian
Railways introduces 32 new special train services for the comfort of rail
passengers and to handle the increased crowds during the festival season.

    This year, Indian Railways
is running 211 special trains (in pairs) on 2,561 trips through Chhath Puja.

    Special trains will
connect major rail links in Darbhanga, Azamgarh, Saharsa, Bhagalpur,
Muzaffarpur, Firozpur, Patna, Katihar, and Amritsar, according to a statement
    from the railways.

    "Railways has
notified an additional 32 special services to ensure smooth and comfortable
travel for passengers during this festive season, in addition to the 179
special services that were previously notified," the Railways said in a
    press release.

    According to an
announcement made on October 17, the Indian Railways has begun a number of
special trains on various routes for similar reasons. In line with this, the
Reserved Festival Special Rajdhani Express train between New Delhi and Patna
was recently announced by Railways. The new service is expected to alleviate
the extra passenger traffic during holidays such as Chhath Puja and Diwali.

    Earlier, in anticipation
of increased passenger demand, railways announced plans to run 82 special
trains during the October holiday season. Traveling during major holidays such
as Navratri, Durga Puja, Dussehra, Chhath Puja, and Diwali became simpler, more
pleasant, and more convenient with the help of this programme. These unusual
trains were intended to run on several routes, making it simpler to travel
    around India.
