    Alone but victorious: BJP defeats Shiv Sena, Congress, NCP trio in MLC elections

    Mumbai: Making its stronghold in four out of six seats in the recently concluded state legislative council elections MLC), Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has alone shown its might against the trio Shiv Sena, Congress and National Congress Party (NCP).





    Hailing its party victory in the MLC elections, former Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis is rejoicing on his party’s triumphant show by standing alone against three parties.

    “Both these victories are special & results of hard work of every karyakarta. With these victories from Nagpur & Akola by great margins, once again, @BJP4Maharashtra proves its mettle in these #MLCElections,” Fadnavis tweeted on Tuesday.





    The BJP won 4 out of 6 seats in the Maharashtra Vidhan Parishad, Fadnavis said.





    Chandrashekhar Bawankule from BJP won the election from Nagpur. Bawankule is believed to be from the faction opposing Fadnavis.





    In the Akola Legislative Council elections, too, the BJP's Vasant Khandelwal wrested the seat from the Shiv Sena.

    Taking a dig at the MVA, Fadnavis said: "Political arithmetic doesn't mean three parties coming together to secure victory. Arithmetic does not work in politics; chemistry does. And political chemistry is with us."
