Along with raising slogans of Shri Ram, we should also become like him: RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat

New Delhi: On Sunday, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat said, “India has produced more great men in the past 200 years than the whole world has produced.”

The RSS chief addressed a gathering at Sant Ishwar Samman at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, where people from different sections of the society who have served the nation selflessly were honoured.

Starting his speech with slogans of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and “Jai Shri Ram”, Bhagwat said, “Nowadays, we raise the slogans of Jai Shri Ram enthusiastically. There is nothing wrong in it, but we should follow the path shown by Lord Ram.”

“The ideals of Ram gives people the courage to walk forward. Such people exist and are like us in appearance, and they are not supernatural. They do not expect any form of cash or kind; they just do their work silently.” added Bhagwat.

Stressing about the relationship between two brothers in today’s world Bhagwat said, “These days love between two brothers isn’t the same as the kind of bonding Lord Ram and his brother Bharat had; people should learn from the life of Lord Ram.”

“Just like Lord Ram’s brother Bharat loved him, many common people, in today’s times, find it difficult to love their brothers in such a way. Such people should learn from Lord Ram’s life.” Bhagwat said, taking an excerpt of Ramayana.

Further, Bhagwat also cited the example of an individual seeking assistance from a spiritual leader for an election ticket from a political party while assuring the seer of doing service work after that.
