Mahua Moita's designation as a firebrand Member of Parliament was nothing more than a sham...
Digital Desk: BJP MP Nishikant Dubey on Sunday wrote a letter to the Lok Sabha Speaker, demanding the formation of an investigation committee against Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra. "Bribes were exchanged between Mahua Moitra and businessman Darshan Hiranandani to ask questions in Parliament in exchange for cash and gifts," Nishikant Dubey alleged.
Additionally, he demanded Mahua Moitra's immediate suspension from the House.
Dubey in a two-page letter to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla alleged that "Whenever there is a Parliament session, the shouting brigade of All India Trinamool Congress, led by Mohua Moitra and Saugata Roy, is in habit of disrupting the proceedings of the House, by their continued abuses on every person on one pretext or the other."
He said that the Trinamool Congress leaders' "tactics" violated other members' constitutional rights to debate and discuss topics affecting the general public and governmental policy.
The BJP leader said that a "quid pro quo" had been discovered and charged Mahua Moitra with "raising money from a businessman instead of asking questions in Lok Sabha, targeting another business group".
He claimed that Mahua Moita's designation as a "firebrand Member of Parliament" was nothing more than a "sham."
Mahua Moitra remarked that she "welcomes" any motion against her in response to Dubey's accusations.
Taking to X she said, "Multiple privilege breaches against phony degreewala and other BJP luminaries are pending. After the Speaker has dealt with any motions made against me, please accept them. Before going to my home, the ED and others are also awaiting the filing of an FIR in the Adani coal scandal."
