Digital Desk: Union Home Minister Amit Shah said on Tuesday that the BJP will win more than 300 Lok Sabha seats throughout the country during the upcoming general elections and will return to power for the third time under Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Speaking at a rally in Dibrugarh, where he laid the foundation stone for a BJP office, Shah expressed confidence that the BJP will win 12 of the 14 Lok Sabha seats in the northeastern state.
"With the party securing above 300 seats in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Narendra Modi would become Prime Minister for the third straight term," Amit Shah said.
The senior BJP leader launched a stinging assault on the Congress, claiming, "Northeast was previously considered a fortress of the Congress, but amid Rahul Gandhi's Bharat Jodo Yatra, the party did not do well in the recent assembly polls in three states in the region. Meghalaya, Tripura, and Nagaland recently had assembly elections. The BJP formed the government in Tripura and gained control as alliances in the other two states.
In reference to Rahul Gandhi's contentious statements during his visit to the United Kingdom, Shah, who arrived in Dibrugarh from Arunachal Pradesh, stated, "He (Gandhi) attacked India from foreign land. Congress will be expelled from the entire nation if he persists in smearing the nation and the administration by spreading lies after being evicted from the Northeast." Further, o n the "...kabr kudegi" statement, he stated, "The more they criticize PM Narendra Modi, more the BJP will expand.
Shah stated that the contentious Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act, 1958, or AFSPA, has been revoked in 70% of Assam, while Bodoland and Karbi Anglong are peaceful, and border conflicts with neighbouring provinces are being settled.

"Previously, Assam was renowned for 'andolan' (agitation) and 'aatankwad' (terrorism), but now there is calm and people are dancing to the sounds of Bihu music," Shah said, referring to a mega event in Guwahati on April 14 in which over 11,000 dancers would perform in the front of PM Narendra Modi.
