Bharat Jodo Yatra finale: Rahul Gandhi addressed the crowd in J&K, Srinagar amid heavy snowfall

Digital Desk: Rahul Gandhi is enjoying his moment, but not in the sunlight. Rahul Gandhi addressed a crowd amid heavy snowfall on Monday as the Bharat Jodo Yatra, which he led across a dozen states and two Union territories, came to an end with a rally in Jammu and Kashmir's Srinagar. 

Rahul Gandhi told the crowd that he was in a lot of agonies one day during the yatra, but a letter from a young girl changed his perspective and the pain went.

"I gained a lot of knowledge. I was in a lot of discomforts one day. I assumed I'd have to walk for another 6-7 hours, which would be terrible. But then a young girl ran up to me and said she had written something for me. She hurried away after hugging me. I began reading it "He stated.

He went on, "I can tell your knee hurts because it shows on your face when you put pressure on it. I can't walk beside you, but I'm walking alongside you in spirit because I know you're walking for me and my future. My discomfort dissipated at that same instant." 

Representatives from the opposition parties DMK, NC, PDP, CPI, RSP, and IUML attended the event. In his own capacity, BSP MP Shyam Singh Yadav also attended the final event.

Earlier in the day, Rahul Gandhi hoisted the national flag at the yatra campsite in Srinagar, followed by a fun snowball fight with his sister Priyanka.

PDP head Mehbooba Mufti, who attended the Congress gathering, said Rahul Gandhi represented a ray of hope for the entire country. 

"Rahul, you stated that you have made Kashmir your home. It is your residence. I pray that everything Godse doctrine stole from J-K and our country would be restored. Gandhiji saw a light of hope in J&K. Rahul Gandhi represents a glimmer of hope for the nation today "Mufti stated.

National Conference leader Omar Abdullah urged the Gandhi scion to embark on a west-to-east yatra. "We'd like to walk alongside him," he stated at the end of the event. 

"The yatra was a huge success. This was critical for the country. It has demonstrated that some like the BJP and people who want unity and peace, which the BJP cannot provide "He stated.

Priyanka Gandhi, speaking to a crowd under heavy snowfall, described the Bharat Jodo Yatra as inspirational. 

"I believe that the current political situation in the country is detrimental to the country. A polarising politics has an impact on the country. In some ways, this was a spiritual yatra "She stated. 

"When my brother was on his way to Kashmir, he texted my mother and me. He stated that he had a distinct feeling of returning home. He stated that his family members were expecting him. That they came to hug him with tears in their eyes, and that their anguish and emotions entered his heart, "She went on to say.

Earlier in the day, Rahul Gandhi praised the 'Bharat Yatris' for their love, affection, and support throughout the 136-day foot march. 

With the rally, the yatra, which began on September 7 last year in Kanyakumari and visited a dozen states and two Union territories in nearly five months, has come to an end.
