    North East Express derail Incident: Bihar CM Nitish Kumar announces ex-gratia of Rs 4 lakh for families of the deceased

    Digital Desk: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar expressed shock and anguish over the unfortunate North East Express derailment on October 12, stating that as soon as he learned of the catastrophe, everyone, including locals, began assisting in rescue operations.


    "People started working as soon as we found out about the accident." Four persons were killed. We would compensate the kin of the deceased with Rs 4 lakh and the injured with Rs 50,000. We are going to help everyone," Nitish Kumar stated to the reporters.




    According to the Bihar Chief Minister's Office (CMO), 21 carriages of the North East Express train derailed in Buxar yesterday night.


    Notably, two of the four passengers killed in the railway disaster were from Assam's Sadiya district.
