Digital Desk: The death toll in Bihar's Saran district's Chhapra hooch tragedy, caused by the consumption of tainted liquor, has risen to 39.
On the recommendation of Marhaura Sub-Divisional Police Officer Yogendra Kumar, the Station House Officer (SHO) Ritesh Mishra and Constable Vikesh Tiwari were suspended with immediate effect following the Hooch tragedy in Chhapra.

Earlier in the day, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar lost his cool in the state assembly when opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders attacked his government over several deaths caused by shady liquor in Saran district's Chhapra area.
As Leader of the Opposition Vijay Kumar Sinha has questioned the state's liquor ban policy since 2016, the Janata Dal-United chief slammed the BJP for protesting the deaths.
Nitish Kumar lost his cool in the House, yelling at BJP MLAs, "Sharabi ho gaye ho tum... (you are drunk)"
Later, Bihar opposition lawmakers staged a protest outside the state assembly in response to the incident.
