Digital Desk: In a village in the Jhunjhunu region of this city, a man allegedly slit the throat of his girlfriend and later hanged himself out of anger because she was about to get engaged to someone else, according to authorities on Saturday. The woman was scheduled to get engaged on July 25. Around 1.30 am, the incident took place in Hansalpur Village, close to Gudha Police Station, according to the police.
According to Additional SP Jhunjhunu Narendra Singh, Suresh, who was about 32 years old, killed Khushbu by slitting her throat with a knife at the victim's home during the night. Suresh turned on the room's lighting before launching a knife attack on Khushbu. When her cousin awoke, he tried to protect her, but Suresh also hit him in the face, he stated.
The ASP claimed that Suresh, a married man who was separated from his wife, frequently visited Khushbu at her home and engaged in an affair with her. He wanted to marry Khushbu, but her parents fixed her engaged to someone else, which saddened him.
After the incident, Suresh and Navin, the companion he had at the time, went to the Tanchhau neighbourhood, where Suresh stayed at his uncle's house and Navin left, according to the police. Suresh hanged himself after posting a picture of him and Khushbu on WhatsApp with the message, he could not see her with someone else, according to Circle Officer Navalgarh Rao Anand Kumar.
