Digital Desk: The G20 Leaders' Summit will begin on September 9 and the British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak arrived here on Friday. He promised to work together with other world leaders to address some of the issues that impact all of us.

Senior diplomats, including British High Commissioner to India Alex Ellis and Union Minister Ashwini Choubey, greeted Sunak at the airport together with his wife Akshata Murthy.

Taking to X (Twitter), Sunak wrote, ''I've landed in Delhi ahead of the G20 summit. I am meeting world leaders to address some of the challenges that impact every one of us. Only together can we get the job done."

Sunak was welcomed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who expressed his excitement for a fruitful summit.

During his three-day visit, Sunak is slated to meet with Modi in a bilateral meeting.

Upon his arrival, he met students and staff at the British Council.

''Before meeting the world leaders of today I've been meeting with the world leaders of tomorrow. It's been fantastic to visit students and staff here at @inBritish (British Council in India) -- a reflection of the living bridge that exists between the UK and India,'' Sunak wrote on X.

The bond between the UK and India will define the future of the two countries much more than it is defining the present, said Sunak, the first Indian-origin prime minister of Britain in an interview with PTI earlier this week.
