The decision will increase the probability of being selected by causing lakhs of candidates to participate in the exam in both their mother tongue and regional language.
Digital Desk: The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) stated on Saturday that, in addition to Hindi and English, the Constable (General Duty) test will be administered in 13 regional languages for the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs).
Starting on January 1, 2024, exams will be conducted in 13 regional languages in addition to Hindi and English, according to a statement from the MHA. The question paper will be given in Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Marathi, Malayalam, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Odia, Urdu, Punjabi, Manipuri, and Konkani in addition to Hindi and English.
The decision will increase the probability of being selected by causing lakhs of candidates to participate in the exam in both their mother tongue and regional language.
Under the direction of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the historic decision was made at the initiative of the Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah to promote regional languages and encourage local youth engagement in the CAPF. One of the Staff Selection Commission's marquee tests, the Constable GD, draws thousands of applicants from all over the nation.
According to the MHA, state, and union territory governments would likely start a broad push to encourage local youths to take advantage of the chance to take the exam in their mother tongue and to enroll in large numbers to pursue careers as public servants.
"The Ministry of Home Affairs is fully committed to encourage the use and development of regional languages under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and guidance of Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah,” the MHA statement added.
