    Case Registered Against Amazon India in Online Delivery of Drugs Case

    Bhind: The police in Madhya Pradesh’s Bhind district had registered a case against e-commerce giant Amazon for alleged smuggling of marijuana through its platform.





    Reportedly, a case has been registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 against Amazon India and its Executive director at Gohad police station, bhind.

    On November 13, four people were arrested while disclosing the home delivery of marijuana through Amazon. Further, during the investigation, it came to light that accused Suraj and Mukul Jaiswal formed a company under the name of ‘Babu Tex’ and registered it as a seller at Amazon. The duo ordered marijuana online under the guise of selling stevia from Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh and delivered it to the customers, Bhing police.





    During the raid in Amazon’s delivery hubs in Gwalior, the police found that the company based in Visakhapatnam delivered the substance through Amazon to customers.





    However, Amazon India refuting all the allegations in a statement, said that it does not allow the sale of illegal products through its platform and is cooperating with the police in the investigation.
