Actors Amitabh Bachchan and Akshay Kumar, as well as sportsmen Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli, were among those invited.
According to reports "Journalists who have helped along the way and helped them making Ram temple a reality have been formally invited to attend the event and take darshan because the struggle for Ram Mandir would be incomplete without them."

Furthermore, the Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra asked people across the country to attend the nearby temple on 22 January and pray in Ram's name for the "safety" of the temple.
The consecration ceremony will be televised live on Doordarshan, the state broadcaster.
The Ram temple in Ayodhya is currently under construction. On Sunday, approximately 1,000 labourers were rushed into service in order to fulfil the 31 December deadline for the completion of the temple's first phase.
