Cyclone Mandous starts to weaken; disrupts life in Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu
It has been reported that waterlogging in Tirumala's low-lying regions, including the temple grounds, made it difficult for pilgrims, particularly elderly and crippled persons, to get from the hotels where they were staying.

Digital Desk: Cyclone Mandous was a powerful cyclone that made landfall along the coast of Tamil Nadu, uprooted trees, and produced flooding and landfall conditions. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has reported that the storm has begun to decrease.

"Depression" (a remnant of the cyclonic storm "Mandous" with the pronunciation "Low-Pressureous") faded into a Well-Marked Low-Pressure Area over north interior Tamil Nadu and the surrounding area, according to an IMD announcement on Sunday.

The Depression (a relic of the cyclonic storm "Mandous," pronounced "Man-Dous") over north Tamil Nadu travelled nearly west-southwestward throughout the previous six hours, deteriorated even more, and lingered as a Low-Pressure area over the region on Saturday night.

According to IMD, "it is extremely likely to drift approximately west-southwestward and weaken further over time." Due to Tropical Cyclone Mandous, which is presently active in the Bay of Bengal region, the KVB Puram Mandal in Andhra Pradesh's Tirupati district recorded the highest 258 mm of rainfall on Saturday. The road from KVB Puram Mandal to Srikalahasti was also blocked due to heavy water flow from nearby ponds and lakes.

As cyclonic storm Mandous passed across the states on Saturday after making landfall, it brought torrential rain and strong gusts to Andhra Pradesh, Chennai, and other regions of Tamil Nadu.

According to reports, Tirumala's low-lying areas, including the temple grounds, experienced waterlogging, making it challenging for devotees, including old and disabled people, to travel from the hotels where they were staying.

At Chennai Airport, around 10 flights were also cancelled because of the poor weather brought on by storm Mandous. Mandous will start to deteriorate into a severe depression and then a depression on Saturday, according to an earlier forecast from IMD.

On Friday, Puducherry too saw severe gusts and heavy rain. Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Andhra Pradesh received red alerts as Doppler Weather Radar Karaikal and Chennai monitored the cyclone.
