Desk: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh tested positive
for Covid-19 on Thursday and is presently quarantined at home.

positive for the virus," an official statement said.

Notably, India recorded a
total of 12,591 new Covid-19 infections in the previous 24 hours, a
considerable increase from the previous day's tally of 10,542 cases.
color:black">Last week, the country saw a downward trend in the five days from
April 15 to April 18, with 11,109 and 7,633 instances registered, respectively.
On April 18, India registered 7,633 people, 9,111 on April 17, 10,093 on April
16, and 10,753 on April 15.

color:black">The number of active cases in the country has risen to 65,286 from
63,562 yesterday, according to the Union Health Ministry. The current recovery
rate is 98.67%, with a daily positive rate of 5.46 percent. In addition, 10,827
recoveries were reported in the last 24 hours.
