Digital desk: The Delhi Police is providing special training to women commandos who will serve as "markswomen" in preparation for the upcoming G-20 summit, which will be hosted in New Delhi.
"Delhi Police will give the visiting delegations the highest level of security. Therefore, we are training our female commandos,” an official said.
Senior officials of the Delhi Police claim that 19 female SWAT commandos have so far successfully finished a one-month training program with the Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force in Madhya Pradesh.
According to reports, the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) trained 19 women commandos to be "markswomen" from June to July. These women will serve as frontline security guards and sharpshooters for all G-20 summit events in New Delhi.
According to officials, the commandos received grades for their performance as well. Constable Kiran took first place with a score of 95%, followed by Constable Vaishali in second place with a score of 77.5% and Constable Kavita in third place with a score of 75%.
Earlier on Monday, the sixth meeting of the Coordination Committee on India's G20 Presidency was presided over by PK Mishra, Principal Secretary of the Prime Minister of India. He urged all agencies to collaborate in a "Whole of Government" manner to ensure the success of the G20 Summit.
New Delhi will host the G20 Summit on September 9 and 10, 2023.
