    Delhi reported 10 new cases of Omicron variant, tally increases to 20

    New Delhi: The national capital on Friday reported ten new cases of Omicron taking the overall tally of the virus in the city to twenty, said Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain.





    Notably, on Thursday, the city reported four cases of the new variant, following which all the patients were admitted to Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan hospital (LNJP).

    The Health Minister said, “Delhi now has 20 cases of Omicron variant. Out of 20, 10 were discharged after recovery, and 10 were admitted to Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan hospital. None of them are in critical condition.”

    The minister added that a total of 40 patients with Omicron-like symptoms are currently admitted to LNJP.





    Reportedly, the 40 bedded Omicron dedicated ward at LNJP has now been increased to 100, considering the rise in cases in the city.





    On Monday, Delhi’s first patient of the Omicron variant, a 37-year-old man from Ranchi, was discharged after testing twice negative for the Omicron.
