Digital Desk: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and Delhi Minister, Atishi, raised concerns during a press conference on Tuesday, suggesting that Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal might face arrest by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on November 2. Atishi's apprehensions arose following the ED's summons to Kejriwal for questioning in the Delhi liquor policy case.
"We are getting information that when Arvind Kejriwal appears before the ED on November 2, the ED will arrest him and put him in jail," Atishi stated, emphasizing the party's concerns regarding the situation.
Further, she accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led Central government, particularly Prime Minister Narendra Modi, of orchestrating these arrests as part of a broader strategy to dismantle the Aam Aadmi Party. Atishi argued that AAP leaders have been systematically arrested in false cases, citing the recent detentions of MP Sanjay Singh and former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, both connected to the Delhi liquor policy case, as well as the imprisonment of Satyendar Jain in a money laundering case.
Atishi vehemently claimed, "When Arvind Kejriwal will be arrested on November 2, it will not be due to any legitimate case or evidence against him, but because PM Modi is afraid of Kejriwal." She further contended, "He (PM Modi) knows that if there is any one leader who openly speaks against the BJP, that is Kejriwal."
The ED's summons to Kejriwal comes shortly after the Supreme Court rejected Manish Sisodia's bail plea in connection with the same case. Previously, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had questioned the AAP convenor in April of this year.
Responding to the ED's actions, Atishi stated, "The BJP is scared of AAP and the work being done in Punjab and Delhi by the government. They are scared of free electricity, good schools, and Mohalla clinics. Therefore, they are trying to frame AAP leaders in false cases and send them to jail."
As November 2 approaches, the political landscape in Delhi remains tense, with many speculating on the fate of Arvind Kejriwal and the ongoing legal battles involving the Aam Aadmi Party's leaders.
