Everyone living in India is ‘Hindu’, claims RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat
He stated that Hindutva ideology respects variety and believes in human togetherness.

Digital Desk: Mohan Bhagwat, the Chief of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), claimed on Tuesday that every person living in the country is a 'Hindu,' and that the DNA of all Indians is the same, and there is no need for anyone to modify his style of doing rituals.

In an address to Swayamsevaks (Sangh volunteers) in Ambikapur, the headquarters of Chhattisgarh's Surguja district, he emphasized unity in diversity as an age-old feature of India and claimed Hindutva is the only idea in the world that believes in bringing everyone together.

"Since 1925 (when the RSS was founded), we have been telling people that everyone in India is a Hindu. Those who consider India as their ‘matribhoomi’ (mother land) and want to live with a culture of unity in diversity and make efforts in this direction, irrespective of whatever religion, culture, language and food habit and ideology they follow, are Hindus,” Bhagwat said.

He stated that Hindutva ideology respects variety and believes in human togetherness.

"Hindutva is the only idea in the world that believes in uniting diversity because it has brought such diversity together in this land for hundreds of years." This is the truth, and you must state it clearly. We can be united on this basis. "The RSS's work is to create an individual and national character and bring people together," the RSS chief stated.

He underlined the need of respecting everyone's faith and claimed that all Indians' DNA is the same and that they share a common ancestry.

"Despite our differences, we are all one. We have a common ancestry." Every Indian who is a descendant of the 40,000-year-old 'Akhand Bharat' shares the same DNA. Our forefathers taught us that everyone should stick to their own beliefs and traditions and not try to convert others. "Every path leads to the same location," Bhagwat explained. The RSS chief urged people to respect all religious beliefs and customs.

"Respect everyone's religious beliefs and customs." Accept everyone and continue on your own path. Fulfill your desires, but don't be so selfish as to disregard the well-being of others," he added.

According to Bhagwat, the entire country fought the coronavirus outbreak together.

"Our culture binds us together." We become together in times of crisis, no matter how much we quarrel among ourselves. When the country is in crisis, we fight together. "During the coronavirus pandemic, the entire country came together to deal with it," he said.

Inviting people to visit the Sangh's'sakhas' (congregations of RSS workers), he stated that the 97-year-old organization's goal is to unite people and make society influential while treading the road of truth.

"Do not observe the Sangh from afar like a spectator. Make your personality helpful to the country and work for the country's and society's wellbeing. To live such a life, become a swayamsevak," Bhagwat urged.
