Have you received an Emergency Alert message on your phone? Here's what it means
This system aims to alert people to life-threatening situations including earthquakes, tsunamis, and flash floods.

Digital Desk: The Indian government is testing an emergency alert system once again to alert Smartphone users to life-threatening emergencies, such as natural disasters.

Several customers on October 10 (Tuesday) received a flash message with a clear beep that said, "This is a test alert message, please ignore." The purpose of this test message, which was sent by the Department of Telecommunication in collaboration with the National Disaster Management Authority, is to assess an emergency alert system.

A flash message reading "Emergency alert: severe" flash had been sent earlier on September 15 to several Android phone owners. The phone beeped loudly as soon as the message was received.

This system aims to alert people to life-threatening situations including earthquakes, tsunamis, and flash floods. Android users have more control over information during crucial times thanks to the settings menu's customizable alert settings.
