Digital Desk: Two people were killed and a third was missing when an avalanche struck a group of Border Roads Organisation (BRO) employees on Sunday evening near Chika in the Lahaul subdistrict of the Lahaul-Spiti district. After several unproductive hours, the search for a second missing person had to be suspended due to low temperatures and poor visibility.
Authorities who talked to PTI said that an avalanche in the area's Chika hamlet buried two snow cutter/dozers and two casual labourers.

In addition, it stated that the "District Emergency Operation Center (DEOC) Lahual and Spiti informed that an incident of avalanche occurred near (Chika) Shrinkula Pass at 35 KM in Subdivision Lahaul," and that "In this incident, three BRO casual workers got buried under the avalanche along with snow cutter/dozer machinery, out of which two dead bodies have been recovered and are being brought to RH Keylong."
