'If I go to Pakistan, I will not survive…', Seema, who came to India in love, pleads to CM Yogi
After a lawyer they had contacted for a marriage informed the authorities about Seema's unauthorised visit, she and her partner Sachin were detained on July 4.

Digital Desk: The Pakistani woman, Seema Haider, who had been arrested for entering India without permission to be with an Indian man she met through the gaming app PUBG Mobile, was released on bail this morning. Seema pleaded to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to allow her to remain in India during an interview with Aaj Tak.

"Please let me stay back in India with Sachin. If you send me back to Pakistan, they will stone me to death. I would rather die here than go back to Pakistan," Seema requested Yogi Adityanath.

After a lawyer they had contacted for a marriage informed the authorities about Seema's unauthorised visit, she and her partner Sachin were detained on July 4 in Ballabhgarh, Haryana.

The arrest also included Sachin's father. After a subsequent 14-day judicial custody, all three were on Saturday freed on bail.

Additionally, Seema denied the allegations made by her estranged husband, Gulam Haider, who had earlier produced a video pleading with the Indian authorities to send Seema and their kids back to Pakistan.

"Everything my husband Gulam says in the video is false. He used to beat me and torture me by throwing chili powder in my face." She continued by saying that she had not lived with Gulam for the previous four years.

She claimed that her recently married husband Sachin had adopted all four of her kids and that she wished to remain with Sachin.

Seema claimed that Sachin taught her Hindi, which gave her more confidence when asked about her choice to come to India and her travels from Karachi to Greater Noida. Before deciding to move here, I also learned a lot about India through watching Bollywood films, said Seema.

PUBG brought Seema and Sachin together in 2019, and they grew close over time. After the Covid pandemic travel restrictions were relaxed in March 2023, Seema and Sachin travelled from their home countries to Nepal, where they finally had their first in-person meet in three years. They talked for seven days and planned to get together again later.

The authorities claim that a travel agent made Seema's journey from Pakistan to Nepal possible. According to some sources, she and her four children may have flown to Dubai first before going on to Nepal. Seema travelled from Nepal to India by bus, passing through Pokhara, in the third week of May.

With assistance from Sachin, Seema moved to Greater Noida. They decided to be married after he introduced her to his family. Their efforts, however, were foiled when the lawyer they approached informed the police, which resulted in their imprisonment.
