Indore temple floor collapsed resulting in death of 13 people after falling into a well
The incident occurred on the occasion of Ram Navami, when the temple was crowded...

Digital Desk: More than 30 people fell into a stepwell at an Indore temple this morning, resulting in the deaths of thirteen people. On the day of Ram Navami, there had been a lot of foot traffic, and the roof of the well where the shrine was located collapsed.

As rescue efforts at the Beleshwar Mahadev temple continue, 17 people have been rescued and many of them have been hospitalised.

On Ram Navami, the incident at the Beleshwar Mahadev temple happened amid a crowd of worshippers. Visible evidence from the scene suggests that excessive foot traffic caused the floor of the temple to cave in, sending individuals down the well. In the footage, devotees were escorted out by ropes and ladders.

Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, previously stated that all efforts are being made to rescue people who fell down the well. "It's a tragic incident, but the rescue operation is ongoing," he previously stated. The rescue mission concluded late in the afternoon.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed regret over the incident. "I'm devastated by the mishap in Indore. I spoke with Chief Minister @ChouhanShivraj Ji and got an update on the situation. The State Government is moving quickly to lead rescue and relief efforts. My thoughts and prayers are with all those affected and their families "He tweeted about it.

Indore collector T Raja has stated that rescue efforts are underway and that the administration is actively watching the situation.
