    Industrialist Rahul Bajaj to be cremated with full state honors, says Maharashtra CM

    Digital Desk: A veteran Industrialist Rahul Bajaj, and Padma Bhushan recipient died on Saturday at the age of 83.  Bajaj passed away at a private hospital in Pune at 2.30 pm.


    Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thackeray tweeted that Bajaj would be cremated with full state honors, as he added that with his passing, the country lost a prominent nationalist industrialist.


    "The last rites on him will be performed in full state honors," the CM said in his message.


    According to officials of the Bajaj group, the funeral will take place on Sunday in Pune.

    In the last month, Industrialist Rahul Bajaj was treated for cardiac and lung conditions, said Dr. Parvez Grant of Ruby Hall Clinic in Pune. President Ram Nath Kovind said, "Saddened to learn of Shri Rahul Bajaj’s demise.


    Known as a doyen of Indian industry, he was highly committed to its priorities. The rise and innate strength of the nation's corporate sector were reflected in his career. His death leaves a void in the world of industry. My condolences to his family., said Maharashtra  CM, Uddhav Thackeray.
