    Kanpur Metro Rail Project: PM to inaugurate today

    Digital Desk: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Uttar Pradesh to inaugurate the Kanpur Metro Rail Project today. The Kanpur Metro Rail Project's completed section inauguration program is scheduled to be around 1.30 pm on Tuesday.





    "Enhancing urban mobility has been one of the key focus areas of the Prime Minister. The inauguration of the Kanpur Metro Rail Project's completed section is yet another step in this direction," the PMO stated in a statement.





    PM Modi will review the Kanpur Metro Rail Project and launch a metro ride from the IIT metro station to Geeta Nagar. 





    As per official information, the length of the Kanpur Metro Rail Project is 32 km, and the estimated expense of the project is ₹11,076.48 crore.





    The construction work for this project started back on November 15, 2019. It took almost two years to complete the final establishment. The trial run was carried out on the 9 km IIT to Motijheel Priority Corridor on November 10, 2021.

    Apart from the inauguration event, PM Modi will also inaugurate the Bina-Panki Multiproduct Pipeline Project today. It is a 356 km long scheme with a capacity of approximately 3.45 million metric tonnes per annum.





    The Bina refinery in Madhya Pradesh has been extended to Panki in Kanpur. The project has been constructed at over Rs 1,500 crore. This initiative will enable the region to access petroleum products from the Bina refinery.





    PM Modi will further attend the 54th Convocation Ceremony of IIT Kanpur. He will be the Chief Guest of the Convocation ceremony in Kanpur. Hence, he will be interacting with the institution's students.





    The Institute will further provide digital degrees and certifications through an in-house blockchain-driven technology designed at the Institute under the National Blockchain Project. 





    PM Modi will also inaugurate this unique in-house blockchain-driven technology designed by the Institute today. "These digital degrees can be verified globally and are unforgeable," the PMO stated.
