Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge receives death threat, points finger at BJP
Kharge accused the BJP of being involved in the threat letter and he pointed fingers at them.....

Digital desk: Congressman and Karnataka minister Priyank Kharge on Thursday said that he received a threat letter from "manuvadis" that was filled with casteist slurs. Even a threat to "encounter him" is made in the letter addressed to his office.

The minister claims that besides threatening Kharge's life, the letter makes insulting statements about his Dalit heritage.

Priyank Kharge on X claimed, "Recently, received another love letter from Manuvaadis asking me to lay low and not speak up as I am a Dalit. The letter explicitly says that I might become an MLA or a Minister, but I am and will always remain a Dalit. The letter, besides abusing my family, also states that they won't hesitate to have me killed in an 'encounter' by their people."

The Congress leader said that a complaint had been filed at the Vidhana Soudha police station.

Kharge accused the BJP of being involved in the threat letter and he pointed fingers at them. Furthermore, he has requested that Umesh Jadhav, the Kalaburagi MP, investigate the situation and take swift action.

In the Karnataka Assembly election of 2023, Kharge further charged that the BJP had given a ticket to "a goon who threatened to wipe out his family". "The BJP gave an assembly ticket to a goon who threatened to destroy my family during the most recent Karnataka assembly elections. He is currently escaping," Kharge claimed.

Congress leader Kharge while speaking to a news agency said, "I have received a threatening letter from 'manuwadis' saying that Dalits should not be speaking out this loud. Dalits should not enter politics and Dalits should not climb the ladder of society. And if you continue to speak out we will have to ensure that we encounter you. We have already sent it to the police station. FIR has been lodged."
