    Kushinagar: 13 women drown in a well amidst wedding rituals
    Digital Desk: On Wednesday, in a village in Uttar Pradesh's Kushinagar district at least 13 women and girls, including a toddler, died after falling down a well during wedding rituals.

    The incident occurred in Nebua Naurangia, Kushinagar. During the Haldi ritual, several ladies and young girls stood atop the well. The iron grille above the well suddenly came way, and the women fell within.

    Around 15 ladies were rescued by locals and police, but 13 were unable to be saved in time.

    Everyone who was rescued from the well was brought to the local hospital. Doctors conducted tests and ruled 13 persons deceased. All of the dead were held near the local hospital's morgue. 

    Yogi Adityanath, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, has conveyed his condolences for the loss of life in the accident. He has urged officials to increase rescue and relief efforts, as well as give medical care to the injured.
