Digital Desk: In connection with the murder of a 30-year-old Swiss woman, whose body was found in West Delhi's Tilak Nagar area, the Delhi Police arrested a man on Saturday. According to authorities, the body's upper portion was covered by a black plastic bag, and the hands and legs of the body were tied with metal chains.
According to the authorities, the culprit, identified as Gurpreet Singh, was in a relationship with the 30-year-old woman he had met in Switzerland. He suspected that she was having an affair with someone else so he killed her.
According to the authorities, Gurpreet often went to Switzerland to see her even though they were in long distance relationship. However, because of his suspicions about her affair, he asked his lover to visit India this time and planned her murder.
During the initial investigation, it became clear that the suspect tied the woman's limbs on the pretext of performing a magic trick on her, and then killed her.
The body was discovered on Friday morning in the Tilak Nagar area near a government school, said officials. Police were able to figure out that the body had been brought there in a car with the help of CCTV camera footage.
"A crew located the owner of the vehicle after accessing the registration number. The owner stated to have sold the vehicle two months ago," an official stated.
Gurpreet was eventually traced and taken into custody. Additionally, authorities seized Rs 2.25 crore from his home.
Further investigations are underway.
