The Indian Premier League, which is a professional men’s Twenty20 cricket league was founded by the
BCCI in the year 2007.
It is usually held between March and May of every year and has an exclusive window in the ICC Future Tours Programme.

The 2022 IPL auction will be a ‘grand’ event according to the officials, with two new teams entering the league.
The 2022 IPL auctions are scheduled on 12 and 13 February 2022 and the franchises are looking forward to buying between 21 to 23 players in the auction.
This year the IPL authorities received around 1,214 appeals for the auction and only 217 spots up for grab and Bhutan is shining bright on the list.
Mikyo Dorji from Bhutan is the first from his country to successfully register for the tournament. Dorji has previously played against Shahid Afridi during the 2021 edition of the Everest Premier League in Nepal.
Dorji is excited as well as dreams to create history by becoming the first Bhutanese to receive an IPL contract.
Dorji pinned a picture with former India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni on his official Instagram profile. Dorji had met Dhoni last year and the former shared a brilliant piece of advice from the ‘Captain Cool’ on his Instagram post.
'Keep it simple. Focus more on the process and less on the results. If you get the process right you will get the result. And enjoy, don’t take too much pressure. Ever since the great MS Dhoni gave me this piece of advice, it has always stuck with me," Dorji captioned the post.
